Organic Echinacea purpurea
Description
Echinacea or purple cone flower, is a perennial plant with attractive purple, daisy-like flowers that grow up to 1.2m tall. They are loved by bees and butterflies. The roots are used for Echinacea tincture. Grow in a sunny position in rich soil. As a perennial plant, Echinacea will die back in the winter and regrow in the spring. Expect flowers in the second year after sowing.

Sowing: Sow indoors in trays or plugs in spring or late summer. Sow the seeds on the surface, or with a very light covering of seed compost, keep moist. Transplant into final position with a spacing of around 30-60cm. You may get a few flowers in the first year. but Echinacea is a perennial plant and will flower in the second year after sowing.
