Description
Large green leaves with a narrow green midrib, Spinach Beet is not a spinach at all but a kind of chard. It grows, looks and tastes very similar to Spinach. Very easy to grow, you can pick the generous crop of leaves young and eat raw as baby salad leaves, or cook the larger leaves like spinach. The stems can be cooked separately for 2-3 minutes longer. A cut and come again crop, pick a few leaves as needed but leave the crown or centre of the plant intact and the plant will keep growing.

Sowing: Sow outdoors from late April until mid July in rows 30 cm apart. Sow seeds 2.5 cm deep and 2 cm between the seeds.
Growing instructions: Leaf beet is an easy to grow leaf crop, it will grow well even in poor soils and is suitable for a container or pot. It likes a sunny position but can tolerate some shade. It can be cut several times and will tolerate some frost.
