Carleschi Organic White Spelt Mezzi Rigatoni
Description
Carleschi's White Spelt Mezzi Rigatoni is made with stoneground white spelt so that none of the amazing nutritional and health benefits of this grain are lost in the milling process. Not to degenerate any of the vitamins, they produce and dry their pasta at a low temperature. Spelt, a hulled wheat, has less gluten than bread wheat and has a rich nutty flavour. It is an excellent source of carbohydrates and dietary fibre. It is particularly rich in iron, magnesium, phosphorous, zinc and niacin (vitamin B3) as well as micronutrients such as calcium and vitamin E. Ridged mezzi rigatoni pasta is typical of central and southern Italy, the name meaning half-ridged. It carries sauce well and is superb with creamy mushroom, tomato and vegetable sauces.
